2021: We are excited to hear that the Fairfax County Park Authority has announced the 2021 anticipated construction start of the Sully Woodlands Stewardship Education Center at Ellanor C. Lawrence Park. This planned facility is to be a state-of-the-art interpretive center to provide educational services, to serve as a gateway to the greater Sully Woodlands, and provide core facilities available to the public and the Cabell's Mill community.
To align with the sustainable mission and goals of the Park Authority, the project will be designed to meet the rigorous sustainable design standards of the Living Building Challenge and be one of only a few facilities in the region that will meet these standards. A few key points from the long list of standards include, native plantings, water is sourced and treated on site, rely solely on renewable forms of energy, and create a robust, health space that encourages a highly productive building.

2020: The Cabell’s Mill Community Association is happy to announce the opening of the community “Little Library” box near the corner of Cabell’s Mill Drive and Cabell’s Mill Drive. “Take a book, leave a book”! The Girl Scouts assistance made the box possible.
